Excess Wakefulness and Wake State Instability
October 15, 2004

Abstract:
Increasingly it is recognized that sleep loss has significant consequences for performance, health and well-being. Yet, sleep deprivation is widely practiced, and many value wakefulness much more than sleep. Recent discoveries in sleep deprivation research will be discussed to understand this paradox.
