singing from the source:
Poetry, image, and music from the
roman de fauvel

THE CLERKS' GROUP

Friday 8 February 2008
7:30–9:00 pm

Bodek Lounge, Houston Hall
3417 Spruce St, Penn Campus

In their dazzling multimedia realization of the fourteenth-century manuscript of the Roman de Fauvel, the Clerks’ Group combines performance of the book’s celebrated music with new poetic renderings of the original satirical text by the UK poet Ian Duhig.

The Clerks’ Group, directed by Edward Wickham, is the winner of Gramophone magazine’s Early Music Artist of the Year award and regularly appears at festivals throughout Europe and the United States.

The Penn Humanities Forum is proud to cosponsor this performance with Penn's Department of Music and Annenberg Rare Book and Manuscript Library, with the support of Lawrence J. Shoenberg.
