  Penn Faculty Research Fellowships

The Penn Humanities Forum awards a small number of fellowships each year to Penn faculty in the humanities and allied departments.

Two types of awards are available: $5000 for junior faculty (assistant professors) payable as salary, and $10,000 for senior faculty payable to departments for one course offset. The fellowships are for research that relates to the Forum's theme for the year in which the award is granted.

PHF Penn Faculty Research Fellows must attend the Forum's weekly Mellon research seminars (Tuesdays, noon–2:00) and present their research at one of the sessions during the year. In addition to Penn faculty, members of the Tuesday Mellon Research Seminar include Mellon Postdoctoral Fellows, Regional Faculty and Professional Research Fellows, and others.

Calls for applications are announced in late fall for the subsequent academic year. The 2008–2009 Call for Applications on Change is now open. Please click here for details.
