Andrew W. Mellon Fellowship Opportunities
2014-2015 Theme: COLOR

Each year, the Penn Humanities Forum provides fellowships for Penn students, Penn and regional faculty, cultural experts, and postdoctoral scholars interested in conducting research related to the Forum's theme. As part of their research, Fellows participate in the Forum's rich program of interdisciplinary seminars (biweekly for students, weekly for faculty), as well as cultural events and conferences.

Our current Call for Applications is on the topic of COLOR, the Forum's theme for 2014–2015, with fellowships available in the following categories:

Penn Undergraduate Humanities Forum Fellowships

Nine awards of $1500, two of $1750, and one of $2000 are available for full-time Penn undergraduates wishing to conduct independent research outside their academic coursework.

Penn Graduate Humanities Forum Fellowships

Ten $1000 awards are available to Penn graduate students in the humanities and allied fields.

Penn Faculty Fellowships

$5000 salary stipends for junior faculty and $10,000 course offsets for senior faculty are available to Penn scholars in the humanities and allied fields.

Regional Faculty and Professional Fellowships

Seven $5000 awards are open to humanities faculty from Philadelphia-area colleges and universities, as well as directors and curators of cultural organizations.

Postdoctoral Fellowships
Five Andrew W. Mellon Postdoctoral Fellowships in the Humanities carry a stipend of $46,500 plus other benefits. Scholars spend one year in residence at Penn and teach one undergraduate course in addition to conducting research.
