The Penn Humanities Forum announces ten Mellon Research Fellowships of $1000 each, designed to encourage humanistic inquiry and exchange. Applications are invited from Penn graduate and professional students in all humanities-related areas who are pursuing research related to the Forum’s 2010–2011 theme, Virtuality.
At biweekly meetings of the Graduate Humanities Forum (GHF) during the year, Fellows present their own research, respond to the work of their peers, and discuss shared readings.
The year's work culminates in the annual Graduate Humanities Forum international spring conference, entirely organized and run by the GHF Fellows, PHF Research Assistant, and GHF Faculty Advisor.
Fellowships are awarded competitively. To apply, students should submit:

Cover letter expressing interest in the fellowship. |

Curriculum vitae. |
| 3. |
Project title, 125-word (max.) abstract, and proposal (500 words) describing the research to be carried out during the course of the year and its relation to the 2010-2011 theme, Virtuality. |

One confidential letter of recommendation from either your dissertation director or your graduate chair. Referee should email the letter directly to Jennifer Conway no later than March 15, 2010. |
